Before accessing Drughub Market, you need three things: the Tor Browser, a PGP key pair, and a cryptocurrency wallet funded with Bitcoin or Monero. Monero is strongly recommended because it obscures transaction amounts and sender addresses, while Bitcoin transactions are traceable on the public blockchain.
Download the Tor Browser only from the official Tor Project website. Third-party downloads may contain malware or modified versions designed to de-anonymize users. Verify the PGP signature of the download before installing.
Download Tor from torproject.org. Launch the browser and connect to the Tor network. For additional security, set the security level to "Safest" in the Tor Browser settings, which disables JavaScript globally.
Use a tool like Kleopatra, Gpg4win, or gpg on Linux to generate your PGP keys. Store your private key offline and never share it. Upload your public key to your Drughub profile so vendors can encrypt messages to you.
Navigate to the Drughub onion address in Tor Browser. Choose a username that has no connection to your real identity. Use a randomly generated password of at least 16 characters. Add your PGP public key during registration to enable encrypted recovery.
Explore categories and read vendor profiles carefully. Look for vendors with high ratings, substantial completed order counts, and low dispute rates. Avoid new vendors for your first purchase until you understand the process.
Select a listing, choose quantity and shipping method, and proceed to checkout. The vendor will provide an encrypted message with payment instructions. Decrypt this message using your PGP private key.
Send the required cryptocurrency to the escrow address provided by the market. Wait for blockchain confirmations — typically 2 to 3 for Bitcoin, 10 for Monero. The escrow holds your funds until you confirm delivery.
Once your order arrives, inspect it carefully. If everything matches the listing description, log into Drughub and release escrow funds to the vendor. Leave an honest review to help future buyers.
If the order never arrives or doesn't match the description, open a dispute before the auto-release timer expires. Provide clear evidence: screenshots of messages, photos of received items, and any relevant documentation.
Drughub accepts Bitcoin and Monero. While both work, Monero offers significantly better privacy. Bitcoin transactions are recorded on a public ledger that anyone can analyze. Monero uses ring signatures and stealth addresses, making transactions effectively untraceable.
If you use Bitcoin, consider using a tumbler or mixing service before sending funds to the market. This breaks the link between your exchange account and the darknet market deposit. Monero eliminates this need entirely.

Check vendor
Always use PGP for addresses and sensitive details. Never send plaintext shipping information through market messages.
For your first order, choose a low-value item from an established vendor. This lets you learn the process without significant risk.
New buyers often make preventable errors that compromise their security or lead to lost funds. The most frequent mistake is using a username or password that connects to a clearnet identity. Even a similar naming pattern can link accounts across platforms.
Another common issue is failing to verify onion addresses. Phishing sites mimic real market URLs with slight variations. Always confirm the address through multiple independent sources before logging in. Bookmark the verified URL after your first successful visit.
Sending funds directly to a vendor's wallet instead of the market escrow is a fast way to lose money. Legitimate vendors never ask for direct payment outside the platform. If a vendor requests this, report them and find another seller.
